My dad has been cleared of cancer.
WOOHOO!
He had about 20% of his kidney removed due to "cancerous activity" - two months after having heart bypass surgery in Rochester, Minnesota. It was a tough 6 months - July through December last year - of his diagnosis (of a rare heart blockage, and spots on his kidney and lung), treatment and recovery. Ugh - the recovery was the hardest I think. But, our family made it through - and very important - my mother made it through (although she almost had it as rough as my dad!).
That's why at our wedding, we decided our favors to our guests was a donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Like anyone wanted a little knicknack they were just going to throw away, plus we had a candy bar anyways! And luckily, he was able to dance with me at my wedding.
